The artwork is a mix of collage, painting and textural techniques. The vertical composition and the rich use of colour—especially the deep red and gold—give it an almost sacred, spiritual feeling. The blue butterflies and flowers provide a beautiful contrast and a sense of movement. The combination of architectural elements, natural motifs and textile-like structures evokes a story about transformation, travel. It is a connection between past and present, because the title “Travelling Flowers” refers to a project of the same name, 15 years ago.

Over Reinharda Drijfhamer
Reinharda Drijfhamer (1957), (woont nu in Frankrijk) is een veelzijdig kunstenares.De hele wereld is haar atelier. Ze schildert, tekent maakt mozaïeken. Ze reageert direct op de mogelijkheden die het landschap of de directe omgeving haar biedt met installaties en projecten, solo of in samenwerking met collega kunstenaars. De processen van haar projecten op locatie legt zij fotografisch vast in haar kunstboeken. Op haar talloze reizen, neemt zij meestal een project mee als bagage : Travelling Flowers is zo'n kunstproject. Drijfhamer volgde de 5 -jarige lerarenopleiding Tehatex, Tekenen en Textiel daarna studeerde zij aan de Kunstacademie (AIVE) Autonome Vormgeving Eindhoven (huidige design academy). Zij was 22 jaar kunstdocente in Nederland en gaf meer dan 135 exposities door heel Europa.
